Visiting Bollywood in different parts of the world

Hindi movie locations make great holiday destinations.
The hero professes his love to the heroine in Mumbai and suddenly the next scene takes you to Switzerland, New Zealand, or some other faraway land for a song sequence.
Welcome to Bollywood, where time and space have no meaning and locations change in every frame of the film. And since as a nation we love Hindi movies, how about visiting destinations that have figured in popular films? That’s the easiest way of experiencing Bollywood.
If you are planning a visit to Singapore, don’t forget to visit places that Hrithik Roshan jumped around in in Krrish, or if you are in Mauritius, stay at the same hotel where Garam Masala was shot (remember the scene where Anil Kapoor bumps into Bipasha Basu with his wife?).
Mauritius is another favourite Bollywood destination. Many movies have been shot there — Golmaal, No Entry, Biwi No. 1, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and China Town.
The UK has gone a step further and has created a Bollywood trail (tonnes of Indian movies have been shot there). People visiting London should get hold of the movie map, which has unusual attractions such as Bicester Village shopping centre in Oxfordshire, which featured in the 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Dolbadarn Castle in north Wales, shot in Kyun! Ho Gaya Na in 1998. The map will help you get around the specially created Bollywood trail.
There are many such amazing places to see in Switzerland and New Zealand, Australia and Sri Lanka, and all the other places that Bollywood seems to embracing.
If you are a south Indian movie buff, visit Malaysia, where plenty of Tamil movies have been shot. Recently though, Hindi movies have also discovered this country. Book your tickets to this destination and check out what the new Don Shahrukh Khan did in KL. What better way to enjoy movies and movie locations?
